ABOUT PORKY’S TEXAS SPIRITS SALOON

    The front bar was built as a gas station in 1945. A few years later it was changed into a beer joint. Over the years it has also had restaurants inside.

     Leonard Moore took over about 14 years ago and added a small dance hall. It was named The Mayflower Dance Hall after the old round dance hall that used to be just down the street.

     About 4 years ago Larry (Porky) & Carol Reed bought the place. We have added on to the dance hall, increased the size of the front bar, and added A/C & heating (damn handy in this part of Texas) to the back bar & dance hall. However, we still have the option to open up the swing up windows to enjoy our great weather days.

     We have entertainment every Friday & Saturday night, except for on occasions when we rent the hall for a private party. Yes, we do rent the hall out for parties. We've had wedding receptions, graduations, birthdays, special benefits, anniversaries, etc...

     We have a full liquor bar and lots of different beers. We have a mixed-beverage permit. That means No alcohol in or out ... "THAT'S THE LAW"... we open at noon every day except Christmas Eve and stay open till 2:00 a.m. on the week-ends and at least until midnight on week days.

   We've been blessed with some great entertainers, such as:
